A Doctor of Internal Medicine addresses the symptoms and treatments related to the internal organs of the body.  An Internist has special training that is geared toward the long-term treatment of adults such as diagnosing puzzling problems and handling chronic illnesses.

Our Internist is able to diagnose and provide treatment for issues concerning:

  • fatigue
  • weight loss/weight gain
  • infections
  • allergies
  • blood abnormalities
  • digestive problems
  • hormonal imbalance
  • diabetes
  • kidney disease
  • liver disease
  • cancer
  • sleep apnea
  • hormone treatments for gender transition under joint care with a psychologist (click here for more details)

If necessary, we can provide an ultrasound of the abdominal organs, thyroid and blood vessels. We also offer daycare treatments, like medication infusions and IV medications.

The internist work in collaboration with many other departments to provide the patient with the best possible care.

Other procedures are done in the hospital on our request. If an evaluation or treatment is not possible in our clinic, we will send the patient to a specific department of the hospital.
