Dr Lonneke Franken

Dr Lonneke Franken, all-round (cosmetic) dermatologist with focus areas on allergology, eczema and other inflammatory skin diseases, dermato-surgery and -oncology and with a great passion for cosmetic dermatology.

She finished her medical education at the University Medical Centre of Utrecht in 2002-2009. After getting her medical degree, she worked as a doctor in internal medicine for 1 year. After that she started her specialization in Dermatology, also at the UMC Utrecht wherein  she developed her focus areas. During her internship at the Regional Dermatology Centre (RDTC) in Moshi, Tanzania in 2013 for 6 months, she developed more knowledge about skin diseases in the dark skin and traveler’s dermatoses. She experienced living in Africa, how it is like to be an expat and how important to have access to good healthcare. She is happy to contribute to this by providing good dermatological healthcare for the expats in The Hague.

In 2021, she completed the training for Cosmetic Dermatologist at the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam. She likes to combine both the medical and aesthetic site of dermatology and will bring this into practice at the International Health Centre. She worked as a dermatologist from 2015-2023 at the Mauritskliniek in The Hague. In February 2023, with a lot of enthusiasm, she has joined the Polyclinic Dermatology Team of the IHCH.
