Why have you been referred?
The GP has referred you to the POH-GGZ – or in English the GP-MHP (General Practice – Mental Health Professional) – because you may be experiencing mental health challenges that could benefit from short-term guidance and support. A GP refers patients to the POH-GGZ when they show signs of mild to moderate mental health issues that don’t yet require specialized care. In some cases, the referral is made to allow for further assessment or to offer interim support while waiting for specialized treatment. If more intensive care is needed, the POH-GGZ will refer you accordingly.
