Preventive Medicine focuses on the health of individuals, communities, and defined populations. Its goal is to protect, promote, and maintain health and well-being and it hopes to prevent disease and disability.
What does prevention encompass?
Using common prevention strategies such as regular handwashing, helps prevent illnesses like colds and flu from spreading. Taking the time to prepare and store food safely prevents food poisoning. In both cases, it is much more efficient and cost-effective to prevent the illness than to cure it.
This is what we call primary prevention – get into action before it is too late.
Our preventive services include health checks, travel medicine and childrens immunizations, nutritional counselling and smoking cessation.

Changing jobs or renewing your contract? Obtaining a mortgage or a life insurance policy? The IHCH is well-established and certified to carry out (pre-) employment and mortgage/life medical clearance health checks. This includes an extensive intake meeting with an organisation-approved+ doctor; physical examination; compilation and analysis of all necessary tests; telephone consults and follow-up appointments as needed, final reporting to both patient and occupational doctor if required by the organisation and centralised billing.
As the requirements of the examination vary per posting or organisation, so too does the cost. For the best evaluation, we ask that you email us the form provided by your organisation or embassy (email@example.com) and we will contact you with a quote.
